Biography
At the tender age of six years old,Paul got his first musical instrument ,a psychedelic drum kit with a flashing 20 watt light bulb in the bass drum. His folks enrolled him into the church choir where he performed every Sunday throughout his childhood.Piano lessons were soon to follow. At the age of eleven he was working on a ranch in Iowa, where his cousin introduced him to Neil Young's Harvest Album. When he returned to Ft. Worth, Texas he got his first guitar, some Sears model.A close friend down the street had a 1967 Fender Mustang .Paul would manage to squeeze two songs out of him on a weekly basis until the songs ran out.At the age of fifteen he was sneaking into a local lounge to play his guitar and sing on open mic night every Sunday."I got in with a fake I.D. and a little mascara on my mustache to look of age,I'd play songs like Rock' N' Roll Hoochie Koo and Honkey Tonk Women" said Paul. He continued to host and play at various jam nights throughout his career.

" In tenth grade I was at a keg party where three guys came up to me and ask me to audition for their band".After passing the audition I became the lead singer for a band called Split Second, being the front man was cool cause I did'nt have to play an instrument. The drummer from that band, Tim Moore, is still playing with me today." Paul said. He left Split Second three years later which began a career of creating and playing in other bands. Some of those bands included :The BlueGenes,The Heartstrings,No Dogs Allowed,Tight Fit,No Exit,Gangsterfish,Paul Humphreys& The Southwest Rebels, and finally The Paul Humphreys Band. "Song writing was something you did on the side,if you were lucky, the band members would let you slip one original in each set".said Paul
